The original photographs were taken from within a train carriage, during a trip across the Thames, leaving Victoria via Chelsea Embankment heading for Battersea Park Station, Clapham Junction and further beyond towards South London.
It was late afternoon and the light was amazing as the sun was setting - casting a golden glow over the (then derelict) Power Station. The train slowed down then briefly came to a complete halt approximately half way across the Bridge.
I quickly took the opportunity to take lots of different (iPhone) images at different angles and light exposures. These images were later 'composited' as a high quality single image using the many photos as reference and using the different exposures to create an atmospheric final composition. I have re-visited the original version although I have left the softness in the foreground and hardly touched the original colour saturation - it really was that dramatic. The original artwork was created just before the Power Station development started and shows a direct open view of the site.
